This is an English translation provided for convenience. The German-language version ("Datenschutzerklärung") is the legally binding original under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); in case of any discrepancy, the German version prevails.

2. What data we process, and why

a) When you purchase a subscription

When you complete a subscription through Paddle, the following data is processed:

Email address (to deliver your license key and for support)
License key, subscription status, subscription period (to verify whether the Software may be activated)
Technically necessary metadata (creation/update timestamps)

This data is stored with Cloudflare, Inc. (as data processor, in their "Workers KV" service). The legal basis is performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We never see or store payment data (credit card, etc.) ourselves — this is processed exclusively by our payment provider Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), who also acts as Merchant of Record for invoicing and tax handling. The Paddle Privacy Policy applies in addition.

Your license key email is sent via Resend (email delivery service, data processor).

b) When you use the Software

Tango Juliet stores all project data (clients, partners, deadlines, time entries, etc.) exclusively locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to us — we have no access to it and no way to view it. For any personal data you enter into the Software yourself (e.g. your own clients' contact details), you are the data controller under applicable data protection law.

On startup, the app makes a single (or periodic) request to our server to check whether your subscription is still active. Only your license key is transmitted — no other data.

4. Retention Period

License and subscription data is stored for the duration of the active subscription. Data is deleted or anonymized no later than 90 days after the end of the contract, unless a statutory retention obligation applies (e.g. for tax purposes, typically covered via Paddle as Merchant of Record).

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21) regarding the license data we hold. Please direct requests to support@tangojulietapp.com. We process deletion requests manually and confirm deletion within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority (in Austria: the Datenschutzbehörde).

6. Cookies

The Software itself contains no analytics, tracking, or telemetry functionality and sends no usage data to us. This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies of its own. It does load one third-party script from our payment provider, Paddle, which sets cookies needed to run its secure checkout (e.g. fraud prevention). This script is only loaded after you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, or if you start a checkout (which requires accepting first). You can change your choice anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Declining does not affect your ability to browse the site — only the checkout, which depends on Paddle's script.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this privacy policy as needed, for example when the Software or the third-party services we use change.
